KAURI

Kauri once dominated the landscape, the remaining trees are icons for all who come to see the legend that is Kauri. However, they are not safe. A disease has emerged that is killing Kauri with a rampant sickness, startling everyone at its sudden onset.

 

 

On the Coromandel Peninsula there are groups and individuals working to protect the remnant and emerging Kauri forests for future generations to enjoy.

KAURI, the film, will explore the natural wonder of the tree and will document the journey of our conservation guardians and pioneers.
